Drivers who use the East Portland Avenue and East 27th Street intersection in Tacoma will need to plan ahead for alternate routes for two weekends in July.
At 11 p.m., Friday, July 7, contractor crews working on the I-5 Portland Avenue to Port of Tacoma Road – Northbound HOV project will close the East 27th Street and Portland Avenue intersection. This work will also close the Portland Avenue on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5. The closures will remain in place around -the clock through 4 a.m. Monday, July 10, while crews install drainage and electrical components at the intersection.
