The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.

This week's highlights: 

  • April 24 - May 7: 6th Ave. reduced to one lane between Stewart St. and Westlake Ave. during roadway restoration.
  • April 28 - May 1: Broad St. closed between 1st Ave. and 3rd Ave.  Cross streets will remain open.
  • May 1: May Day events.  Expect congestion, delays, and intermittent street closures in Downtown.
  • May 2: 3rd Ave. Arterial Paving Project begins (Virginia to Broad).  First phase will reduce 3rd Ave. to one lane in each direction between Virginia St. and Blanchard St.  Project is expected to last 10 months.
  • May 5 - 8: Eastbound I-90 reduced to one lane between Seattle and Bellevue; traffic will be diverted to the express lanes.
  • May 6: Opening Day of Boating Season events will close the Montlake Bridge from approximately 10AM to 4PM.
