Expect changes Monday to truck traffic patterns at the South Harbor's Main Gate as construction continues at the intersection of East 11th Street and Port of Tacoma Road.

The contractor plans to close the northwest corner of the intersection, which will require significantly narrowing the terminal's exit lane.

Beginning Monday, traffic patterns at the gate will be:

  • OCT trucks: Outbound trucks must exit through the West Gate. A removable barricade will prevent OCT trucks from exiting through the Main Gate.
  • Husky trucks: The outbound lane through the Main Gate will be tight. Use extreme caution when exiting.
  • Triangle lot closed: The triangle lot that Husky trucks use as a tie-down area will be closed for the week.
  • Personal vehicles: The Main Gate will remain open to all POV traffic.

Cones and barrels will be placed to help guide trucks through the narrow areas.

This is the fourth of five stages to complete the intersection. Expect delays and be prepared for disruptions. Please be patient while the contractor completes the final phase of the reconstruction project.
