Thank you for helping us test new technology through the DrayQ mobile application. It didn’t work as well as we had hoped, so we are discontinuing the pilot.
DrayQTM was designed to give truck drivers real-time information about wait times in and around marine cargo terminals and traffic camera views at the touch of a fingertip, but drivers expressed concerns that the wait times listed weren’t accurate enough.
Even after adding more Bluetooth readers to capture more data and enhancing the system, only 10 percent of truck drivers used the technology. Low adoption rates made the data less reliable.
We will continue to seek innovative ways that technology can help us speed our operations, save our customers time and money and reduce port-related emissions.
This was one of several tools in the NWSA’s truck management program to support the goals of the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy and its Clean Truck Program.
