The deadline for the Clean Truck Program is less than two weeks away. Your truck MUST be in compliance by Dec. 31, 2018, or you will be denied access to the NWSA international container terminals. No exceptions.

Here’s what you’ll need to complete your application:

  • A completed application form—signed and dated
  • A copy of your commercial driver's license
  • 2017 Personal Federal Tax Return
  • 2017 Business Federal Tax Return—only if filed separately from personal tax return
  • Bank statements (past 3 months)
  • Copy of the truck title (or pink slip)—only if retrofitting or scrapping existing truck
  • Bill of sale (if purchasing a new truck) or quote/invoice (if retrofitting existing truck)

SCRAPPING BONUS

If you’re planning to scrap your non-compliant truck, a $6,000 scrapping bonus is still available to eligible loan applicants. To be eligible, you must first apply for a Clean Truck Fund loan for a replacement truck from either Opportunity Fund or Harborstone Credit Union. Opportunity Fund or Dolly Small.

In addition, beginning Jan. 1, 2019, all trucks serving our international container terminals must have a registered RFID tag AND have a 2007 or newer engine or certified equivalent emission control systems. Regardless of where you are in the financing or retrofitting process, you must have a compliant truck to enter the terminals. No exceptions.
