Several changes will be taking place at Washington United Terminals over the next few weeks. WUT released the following information:

  1. WUT imports will remain in the RTG run for a bit longer, which means WUT will be enforcing the appointment system beginning Monday, May 1. WUT will still allow same day appointments, but if the container you want is in an area not manned due to no appointments, you will have to wait for the equipment to be available (this is why we strongly suggest making an appointment.) Containers on wheels or in free flow piles will not require an appointment.
  2. Effective Monday, May 8, WUT’s gate hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. All trucks must be in the main terminal by 4 p.m.
  3. TWIC cards will be presented to security on the Port of Tacoma side (prior to crossing the street) of the staging lanes, not the Thorne Road entrance.
  4. Yard traffic changes are also coming. Drivers, please follow the signs and/or longshore directions if given. WUT may be in the middle of changing directions and may not have signs posted so it’s imperative that they follow any directions given by longshore.
