NWSA managing members to consider 2017 budget at two upcoming meetings

The Northwest Seaport Alliance’s managing members have scheduled two public meetings to consider the alliance’s 2017 budget and finance plan.

The first budget meeting on Oct. 18 will include an in-depth look at the 2017 operating budget, capital building plans and finance plan. Managing members will invite public comment at this meeting.

People are encouraged to attend the Oct. 18 meeting to hear how the NWSA’s budget is formed and provide input before the budget is adopted at the Nov. 1 meeting.

The draft budget document is available on the NWSA’s website. Hard copies of the presentation will be available at both meetings.

The Nov. 1 meeting will include a public hearing to formally adopt the 2017 statutory budget.

Both meetings will be held in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center at 3600 Port of Tacoma Rd. in Tacoma. The Oct. 18 meeting begins at 9 a.m.; the Nov. 1 meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend. Meetings also are streamed live from the alliance’s website and archived for viewing on demand.
