The Northwest Seaport Alliance (Seattle + Tacoma) Weekly Volumes & Metrics Report 10/13/25

Overview

For the week ending October 3, metrics had mixed results week over week, but all metrics continue to be down year over year.

International imports were down 28.3% from the week before and down 34.6% compared to the September 2024 weekly average. Truck transactions were only slightly down from the week before, 6.6%, and 14.2% compared to the September 2024 weekly average. Vessel lifts were almost perfectly stagnant from the week before, with 130 additional lifts made from the week before (.5% increase), and down 7.7% compared to the September 2024 weekly average.

This is the 6th straight week of depressed year over year metrics, with this one being measured against the September weekly average since this week of record was split between months. This is in part due to the peak season shipping volume being unseasonably early, as shippers looked to move in cargo in advance of anticipated tariffs.
