NEW FOR 2025!
The Northwest Seaport Alliance, in collaboration with the Washington Trucking Associations (WTA) and our marine terminals, is pleased to announce two new Partnership Awards for the 2025 North Star Awards program.
The Marine Terminal Partner of the Year Award will recognize a marine terminal (as a partner to the trucking community), for operational efficiency, ease of use and a high-level of customer service, contributing to a quality experience for truckers in the gateway. The winning company, by vote of the WTA membership, will be based on the following criteria:
• Turn time performance
• Friendliness of staff
• Helpfulness of staff
• Overall customer service
• Number of added shifts without cost to the trucker
• Availability of appointments during export receiving window/import LFD and same day appointments
• Ease of use/existence of SOP's that enhance overall success
• Safety Practices/Culture

The Trucker Partner of the Year Award will recognize a trucking company (as a partner to our marine terminals) for consistent and reliable service and business practices that encourage collaborative working relationships and operational excellence at our marine terminals. The winning company, selected by international marine terminals in the Seattle and Tacoma harbors, will be chosen based on the following criteria:
• On-time performance and appointment utilization
• Pre-arrival preparedness (info updated and input prior to arrival)
• Clean truck standing/performance (SmartWay Certified, or over and above lower emission vehicle adoption (CNG, LNG, EV, etc.)
• Investments in chassis/trailer/operational changes to improve efficiency and reduce emissions
• Quality of trucks and appearance (image standards)
• Schedule flexibility (utilization of afternoon appointments)
• Driver attitude/in-yard performance
• Safety Practices/Culture
